Schools have fun in the sun!

Six school groups visited the blanket bog at Lake Vyrnwy during May including two groups from Baschurch Primary School. The year 5 and 6 groups were taken up to the blanket bog in land rovers where they ‘made the earth move’, explored how wet a blanket bog is and investigated the plant species that grow on a bog – as they can now tell you, there are certainly more than meets the eye!

The trip ended with a game of ‘hide in the heather’ to show how effective heather is at providing cover for moorland birds such as black grouse.
