Published on 14/Sep/2010At the beginning of September, the LIFE project hosted a visit from a Latvian LIFE project team who are working on the project, Restoration of Raised Bog Habitats in the Especially Protected Areas of Latvia (LIFE08 NAT/LV/000449).
The group spent the day with Mike and Jude who began by giving them a tour of the project area at Lake Vyrnwy and showing them some ditch blocking work from 2007. They then took them over to Penaran where they were able to watch one of the contractors from Dinsdale Moorland Services creating dams in the drains of the recently felled forestry plantation.
In addition to the project work, they were treated to a number of fly-pasts by the RAF and group of touring Lotus sports cars!
