Heather Mowing

Heather mowing will take place to reduce the risk of fire damage to our blanket bog. A total of 95 ha will be mown on dry heath adjacent to blanket bog in the Berwyn and South Clwyd Mountains SAC and on the Migneint-Arenig-Dduallt SAC using a tractor and a flail mower. These firebreaks will help to protect the 1,400 ha of blanket bog in the Berwyn and South Clwyd Mountains SAC and the 44 ha in the Migneint-Arenig-Dduallt SAC.
