Restoration
Restoration work
The LIFE project is carrying out a range of practical restoration work to address the threats to blanket bog in Wales. This work includes the blocking of drainage ditches, removal of non-native plant species, and mowing of heather to reduce the risk of severe fire damage.
The majority of the project work is being carried out by local contractors. The project is therefore benefiting the local rural economy of the project areas.

Information on the various restoration activities being carried out by the LIFE project can be found via the drop-down menus.
